🧽 **Try It Tuesday!** 🧽

This week I’m trying something a little different… a **reusable, machine-washable dish sponge!** ♻️

Because apparently I needed yet another excuse to turn fabric into something 😂

I’m hoping this will be a good way to use up some fabric scraps while making something actually useful for the kitchen. The big question is… **will it survive the washing machine and still be useful afterwards?** 🤔

I’ll report back once it’s had a proper test!

🧵✨ WIP Wednesday — FINAL REVEAL! ✨🧵

After all the cutting, piecing, sewing, unpicking, binding and probably questioning my life choices 😂… my patchwork blanket is FINALLY finished! 🎉

It started as a pile of little pieces and somehow turned into an actual blanket! 🥹❤️

I’m so happy with how it turned out, and I can officially move it from the WIP pile to the FINISHED pile! 🙌

✨ Finished Friday ✨

I’ve got some xTool Pocket Hugs finished this week! 🥰

This week has actually been much more about the designing than the making— lots of tweaking, testing and figuring out what works before turning the ideas into actual finished pieces.

But that’s all part of the creative process, right? 😅

Now I just need to decide which designs are making their way to the next fair! 💕✨

🦑 Throwback Thursday!🦑

Throwing it back to this giant crochet squid I made for a friend! 💜

He was so much fun to make and I’m honestly tempted to make another one for my stall at the next few fairs… because apparently my fair stock needs a giant squid. 😂

I mean, who doesn’t need a giant squid at a craft fair?! 🦑✨

I definitely think he deserves a comeback! 👀

WIP Wednesday 🧵

After having to abandon the binding halfway through last time because school waits for absolutely no one 😂, I’ve finally managed to get some time to sit down and carry on with it!

I’d forgotten just how fiddly binding can be… getting it folded, lined up and stitched neatly is definitely testing my patience! 🙈

So, sewing people… do you have any tips or tricks for making binding easier and getting it to behave? Because I’m all ears! 👀🧵

The last few days have been about getting orders finished, so today I’m turning my attention to some pocket hugs for the upcoming fairs 🧶💕

I love making these little guys — they’re quick, cute and hopefully will give someone a little boost when they need it 🥰

🧵 Makers Monday – The Dino Coat

This week I’m at the “let’s make a mock-up and hope I know what I’m doing” stage 😂

I’m trying to merge two different pattern options to create the coat I have in my head. I’m mainly using Jacket A, but instead of its collar, I’m swapping in the hood from Jacket B 🦖

And because I’m making this for a very wriggly toddler, I’m not completely convinced that my measurements are as accurate as I’d like them to be! 😂 So before I risk cutting into the actual dinosaur fabric, I’m making a mock-up first.

That way I can:
✂️ Check the fit
🧵 Make sure the hood actually attaches properly
👀 See if my pattern mash-up works
🤞 And hopefully avoid ruining the good fabric!

Sometimes making something is less “follow the pattern” and more “let’s see what happens…” 😂

Hopefully this little test coat means I can cut into the proper fabric with a bit more confidence!

Finished Friday… except I didn’t actually finish anything. 😂

This week has been one of those weeks where I’ve managed to start things, work on things, think about things… but apparently the finishing part was asking too much! 🤣

So here’s your reminder that behind every finished project is a slightly terrifying pile of WIPs. 😂🧶✂️

Please tell me I’m not the only one with a “I’ll finish that later” pile! 👀

✨ THROWBACK THURSDAY ✨

Let’s take a trip back to the days when I had one child, one bump and apparently absolutely NO sense of how much I was taking on 😂

I made this little apron-style top for my eldest using a self-drafted pattern… while I was very heavily pregnant with baby number two. 🤰🧵

Because obviously growing a whole human wasn’t enough — I also needed to draft patterns and make clothes. 😂

And THEN there’s the fabric… 👀

It’s the same quilt set I upcycled this summer.

Yep. Apparently I’ve been recycling my own recycling. ♻️🤣

I genuinely had no idea I’d used it for this until I was looking back at these photos. Clearly that fabric has had more lives than some of my projects! 😂

It’s actually so lovely looking back at old makes and seeing how much has changed since then. ❤️

One child ➡️ heavily pregnant ➡️ three children ➡️ still making things out of anything I can get my hands on. 😂🧵
