Throwback Thursday ✨

Taking it back to 2023 and some of my very first craft fairs! 🥹

Looking back at these photos makes me smile because I was still figuring everything out — what to make, how to display everything, what people liked and, of course, how much stuff I could possibly fit onto one table 😂

So much has changed since then, but one thing definitely hasn’t… my love of making things and sharing them with other people ❤️

It’s lovely to look back and see how far you’ve come, even when it doesn’t always feel like you’re moving forward.

Here’s to more makes, more fairs and plenty more creative chaos ✨

✨Try It Tuesday ✨
Something a little different for Try It Tuesday this week! 👀
With craft fairs and the silly season fast approaching, I’m starting to realise that I need to get myself organised when it comes to all the behind-the-scenes business bits… especially business cards and packaging! 😅
So, I got the XTool out to have a go at making some custom business cards ✨
It’s always fun finding new ways to use my machines, and hopefully this is the start of getting myself a little more prepared before the craft fair chaos begins! 😂
Now to see how they turn out… 👀

✨ Makers Monday ✨

The final step… the hem! 🧵✂️

After all the cutting, sewing, shirring, adding pockets and finishing the straps, it was finally time to give this dress its last little finishing touch.

And that means… it’s DONE! 🎉👗

I’ve loved sharing the journey of making this dress from fabric to finished outfit, and seeing it all come together has definitely made every little sewing challenge along the way worth it.

Now for the best part… the final reveal! ✨

Slow Sunday ☕️✨
Sometimes the best thing you can do is slow down, make yourself a cuppa and enjoy a little quiet before another busy week begins.
No big plans today, no rushing around… just taking things slowly and enjoying the little moments. 💕

✨Studio Saturday✨ After Wednesday’s nest of threads, bobbin drama and general sewing machine mishaps... it’s time to try something new! 😂🧵

Today I’m fitting the walking foot to my sewing machine so I can (hopefully 🤞) get back to quilting!

I’m hoping it will help all those layers—quilt top, wadding and backing—move through the machine together a little more smoothly. Because apparently making a quilt wasn’t challenging enough without my machine deciding to create its own thread art! 😅

Wish me luck as I figure out how to use this thing and hopefully get another row of quilting done!

Anyone else have a sewing tool or attachment that looked a little intimidating before you figured it out? 👀🪡

✨ Finished Friday! ✨
A couple of very different makes finished this week! 🥰
📚 I’ve been busy making a few bookmarks ready for the upcoming craft fair season — trying to get a little head start before the fairs creep up on me! 😂
🐔 And because apparently I can never stick to just one type of craft… I also finished this adorable little crochet chicken nugget! 🤣🧶
One step closer to having a nice little collection of handmade goodies ready for craft fair season! ✨

Throwback Thursday ✨
Throwing it back to the time I looked at a tub chair in our living room and thought… I can reupholster that myself 😂
Because apparently sewing, crocheting and crafting weren’t enough—I had to start taking furniture apart too! 🤣
Definitely one of those “how hard can it be?” projects… and we all know how those usually go 👀😂
Would I attempt another one? 🤔

WIP Wednesday 🧵

This week’s job was to start sewing my quilt sandwich together — backing, wadding and quilt top all layered up and ready to go!

I managed exactly one row before the bobbin decided to create its own little nest of thread. 🙈😂

So… before I attempt any more quilting, I clearly need to figure out what’s going wrong with my machine AND work out how to attach the walking foot! 🤦‍♀️

Not quite the progress I had planned, but that’s what WIP Wednesday is all about, right? 😅

Hopefully next week I’ll have a few more rows to show you… rather than a pile of tangled thread! 🧵😂

✨Try It Tuesday ✨

Sometimes you just have to make it and see what happens!

For this week’s Try It Tuesday, I’m having a go at making a mini scrunchie wristlet for my phone 📱🧵

A few bits of fabric, some stitching, a little experimenting… and we have a prototype!

I’m actually really happy with how this one turned out — now I just need to decide if it stays as it is or gets a few tweaks before I make another one 👀
