João Canijo para Sempre

É com profunda tristeza que soubemos ontem da morte do cineasta João Canijo, nosso amigo e representado pela Portugal Film. Com ele fizemos uma viagem incrível com o díptico Mal Viver - Viver Mal, cujo ponto alto foi o Urso de Prata - Prémio do Júri no Festival de Berlim. Vai ser com continuada saudade que vamos continuar a mostrar os seus filmes e empenhar-nos ainda mais para que a sua voz seja sempre ouvida, para que a sua energia contagiante se alastre para nós e que o seu sorriso esteja sempre vivo.

À família, amigos, equipa técnica e artística dos seus filmes, apresentamos as nossas mais sentidas condolências.

oi hoje anunciada a estreia mundial de Filme Pin de María Rojas Arias e Andrés Jurado no Festival Internacional de Berlim na secção Forum Expanded.

O filme é uma co-produção entre Colômbia (La Vulcanizadora) e Portugal (Bam Bam Cinema).

Entre luz, metal e prata, Filme Pin reimagina um arquivo, redimensiona o objecto popular e político: apresenta-nos, numa outra escala, espectros das lutas, do exílio e da solidariedade internacional contra o regime fascista e colonial Português.

The world premiere of Filme Pin by María Rojas Arias and Andrés Jurado was announced today at the Berlin International Film Festival in the Forum Expanded section.

The film is a co-production between Colombia (La Vulcanizadora) and Portugal (Bam Bam Cinema).

Between light, metal and silver, Filme Pin turns a collection of solidarity pins into an archive at another scale, spectres of exile and international struggle against Portugal’s fascist and colonial regime.

Foram hoje anunciadas as estreias mundiais de Computadora de Alice dos Reis e o de Francisca Alarcão.

As duas curtas-metragens integram a secção Short & Mid-length do Festival Internacional de Cinema de Roterdão.

Computadora (produção Foi Bonita a Festa) funde ficção histórica e autobiografia numa meditação sobre as escolhas e os constrangimentos da vida, bem como sobre os sistemas e as categorias que moldaram a modernidade.

o, (produção Laranja Azul e EQZE) aborda uma aversão inexplicável e incontrolável a umbigos e métodos pouco usuais para a resolução de quem padece da mesma fobia.

The world premieres of Oh Be a Fine Girl Kiss Me by Alice dos Reis and o by Francisca Alarcão were announced today.

Both short films are part of the Short & Mid-length section of the Rotterdam International Film Festival.

Oh Be a Fine Girl Kiss Me (produced by Foi Bonita a Festa) blends historical fiction and autobiography in a meditation on life’s choices and constraints, as well as on the systems
and categories that shaped modernity.

o, (produced by Laranja Azul and EQZE) addresses an inexplicable and uncontrollable aversion to belly buttons and unusual methods for resolving this phobia.

Mateus Lagoa and his wife Irene will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary at a most luxurious resort on a tropical island, leaving their teenage son dangerously adrift.

Foi hoje anunciada a estreia mundial de DUAS VEZES JOÃO LIBERADA, primeira longa-metragem de Paula Tomás Marques na nova competição Perspectives da Berlinale. Trata-se de uma produção independente de Cristiana Cruz Forte e Paula Tomás Marques em colaboração com a atriz principal e co-argumentista, June João.

O filme explora os desafios de reconstruir e representar histórias q***r no cinema, refletindo sobre os modos de escrita da História, as limitações narrativas de uma produção cinematográfica e o papel da atriz no processo criativo.

The world premiere of TWO TIMES JOÃO
LIBERADA, Paula Tomás Marques’ first feature film in the Berlinale’s new Perspectives competition, was announced today. It is an independent production by Cristiana Cruz Forte and Paula Tomás Marques in collaboration with the lead actress and co-screenwriter, June João.

The film explores the challenges of reconstructing and representing q***r stories in cinema, reflecting on the ways in which history is written, the narrative limitations of a film production and the role of the actress in the creative process.

Foram entregues os troféus da XVI edição dos CinEuphoria: "Atom & Void, a mais recente obra de Gonçalo Almeida [foi] o filme mais premiado ao arrecadar um total de onze troféus (sete na Competição Nacional e quatro na Internacional)."
Para além destes, a Portugal Film esteve ainda representada nos prémios da Competição Nacional atribuídos a: Sandra Faleiro, Melhor Actriz por Estamos no Ar, de Diogo Costa Amarante; Teho Tehardo, Melhor Música Original em Morning Shadows, de Rita Cruchinho Neves (ex aequo com André Carvalho, por Atom & Void); e ainda o Prémio para melhor Cartaz atribuido a Via Norte de Paulo Carneiro. Parabéns a todos os premiados!

Temos o prazer de anunciar a estreia mundial de PRIMEIRA PESSOA DO PLURAL de Sandro Aguilar (O Som e a Fúria, La Sarraz Pictures) na Competição TIGER. Esta é a terceira longa-metragem do realizador e o seu retorno à competição do festival onde em 2011 esteve presente com uma curta-metragem.

Apresentamos também a estreia mundial de PAI NOSSO – OS ÚLTIMOS DIAS DE SALAZAR de José Filipe Costa (Uma Pedra no Sapato), a primeira longa-metragem de ficção do realizador na Competição BIG SCREEN.

A seleção da estreia mundial dos filmes num dos mais prestigiados festivais de cinema do mundo foi anunciada hoje pela sua diretora artística Vanja Kaludjercic. A 81ª edição do Festival Internacional de Cinema de Roterdão vai decorrer de 30 de Janeiro a 9 de Fevereiro. A Portugal Film, realizadores e respetivas equipas estarão presentes no festival para acompanharem as estreias mundiais.

We are pleased to announce the world premiere of FIRST PERSON OF THE PLURAL by Sandro Aguilar (O Som e a Fúria, La Sarraz Pictures) in the TIGER Competition. This is the director’s third feature film and his return to the festival’s competition, where he was present in 2011 with a short-film.

We also present the world premiere of OUR FATHER – THE LAST DAYS OF A DICTATOR by José Filipe Costa (Uma Pedra no Sapato), the director’s first fiction feature film in the BIG SCREEN Competition.

The selection of the world premiere films at one of the world’s most prestigious film festivals was announced today by its artistic director Vanja Kaludjercic. The 81st edition of the Rotterdam International Film Festival will run from 30 January to 9 February. Portugal Film, the directors and their teams will be present at the festival to accompany the world premieres.
