🌻 New to the Meadow — Meghan Fitzsimmons
There’s a little more whimsy making its way into the Meadow!
Please welcome Meghan Fitzsimmons, a modern-day folk artist creating from her home studio in Owen Sound.
Meghan paints and creates on just about anything that inspires her — and I think that may be my favourite thing about her work. There really are no rules. A crow becomes a garden stake. A pumpkin becomes a sprinkled little treat. Ghosts, mushrooms, sunflowers and all sorts of wonderfully quirky things find their way into her creations.
She follows whatever idea is bringing her joy at the moment, which also means many of her pieces are one of a kind. When she’s ready to move on to the next idea, she does — so you never quite know what she’ll create next.
Her work is colourful, playful, a little quirky and wonderfully whimsical... which sounds rather at home in the Meadow, doesn't it? 🌿🖤
Meghan visits Wiarton often on her way to her family cottage in Pike Bay, and now a little collection of her work has found a home here too.
