This past year was marked by lots of life changes, growth opportunities for this business, + memorable experiences with new friends.

Thank you to all of the people we’ve worked with this year and to all of our clients for trusting us with their plans and projects.

A new brand is in the building process as well as a new adventure is on the horizon 🇺🇸

Can’t wait to share and see what is looking to be an exciting 2023 ✨

From our family to yours, have a blessed new year!

I had the opportunity with the team at the Office of Formation and Discipleship to share about how to help our Catholic churches and organizations get started using video content when you have a shoestring budget or no budget at all.

If you want to watch the whole webinar, I've put the link in the "Resources" highlight.

The two key takeaways I wanted to share was:

1. There is a treasure trove of individuals who would say yes to being part of a media team in your church or organization. I bet you already know someone who has the latest iPhone and already makes content on social. Get 2-3 of these people onto a team each with their own phone camera and you can already hit the ground running with video clip acquisition.

2. Once you've put together a media team and have started building up a backlog of video clips, you need a team who can organize, aggregate and edit these clips together for your videos. My portion of the webinar was covering all the free editing software and education available today for this role. Invest in these people. Equip them with these resources and watch them take off in this ministry.

Shoot us a message if you have any questions!

In 2020 many of our churches had to close their doors. So much in the world had shifted to virtual. Many of us might have forgotten that there were several people behind the scenes keeping things running as the world adjusted to a time of unprecedented change.

As we started coming out of the pandemic, the Office of Formation and Discipleship wanted to acknowledge and thank the numerous volunteers who readied our churches for reopening and being able to gather as a worshipping body again. Our team had the opportunity to film this message of gratitude narrative piece.

The Office of Formation for Discipleship has remained steadfast to their mission (especially during the pandemic) of equipping parishes and their ministry teams to be better stewards of the time and talents given to their communities.

To learn more about how to build a culture of stewardship in your parish or organization, check out their resources at www.archtoronto.org/stewardship (especially their parish vitality section - more on this in the next post).

The people who get video content are the missionary organizations of the church.

We had the privilege to create a series of micro-content videos for to aid their efforts during their recruitment season for new missionaries.

They are an awesome apostolate focused on evangelizing the culture and speaking on topics related to the Theology of the Body.

Missionary organizations like re:gen attract some of the most passionate individuals to participate in the church's mission to evangelize.

Listen to the stories behind their recruitment videos and testimonies. Future missionaries get an opportunity to understand the scope of the work they will be called to participate in and it helps to put names to the beautiful faces behind these organizations.

Also, re:gen is currently looking for new missionaries to join their team! Don't miss the chance to

There are good people working at the Men and women who have invested years of their lives into helping the next generation come to know and love Jesus Christ.

We worked on this project together to help priests and parish teams understand the value and impact that investing in youth ministry has had in the Archdiocese over the past few years. It's difficult to evaluate the fruitfulness of these kinds of investments until you hear the stories and testimonies of those who have been blessed by this important ministry in the church.

The OCY supported and equipped people like us (youth ministers before we started our businesses), they sought to give our young people opportunities to encounter God, and they continue to navigate the current culture and find ways to keep reaching the hearts of our young people.

I'm blessed to know several of the people behind the OCY and call them friends.

If you're a parish in the Archdiocese of Toronto or surrounding dioceses interested in learning how to get youth ministry started, don't hesitate to contact their team at [email protected]

Let's talk about using the new media in the church!

Every video content creator has to start off somewhere. As we were starting to wind down our time in church work and start exploring filmmaking, our church youth ministry was a place where we got to try things out, see what worked, fail and have fun making videos we'd enjoy watching down the road. What was awesome about the youth at our parish was that they loved being in our videos. At the time we only had one dslr camera and a manual handheld stabilizer.

We used it for everything! Highlight reels of our programs, recaps for retreats and events, message series bumper videos (the videos in this post are some of that content), we even made a short film to use as teaching material for a parish summer camp our team ran.

There is so much content in the church to be shared. So many creative ways to engage our community and tell the stories of the people in front of us.

Now is such a phenomenal time to jump into creating video content! Try things out, see what works, fail and have fun making content for the people you serve.

When your first boss of 8 years encourages you to jump into filmmaking full time and then asks to become one of your first clients.

My first job for him was painting the church garage and church windows. From there we built a youth ministry together, he married my wife and I, and soon we will be sending him off to his next parish after all the years he poured into our little church (it's not so little anymore).

Thank you Fr. Michael for your love, investment in us and support all these years. ⛪️✨
