Donna & Jay Levy exploring Jewish Buenos Aires with the wonderful Valeria Duek of .adventure.arg 🇦🇷✨

From the historic halls of AMIA to a heartwarming coffee break at Zman Coffee — a beautiful Jewish non‑profit café run by young adults with disabilities — we felt community everywhere. Highlights: the Jewish Museum , the majestic Temple Libertad (where Jay sang!), and the moving Memorial of the Israeli Embassy. Special moment: Jay, with his halavi heritage, was thrilled to learn Valeria is halavi too — a small world that made the day even more meaningful.

Grateful for a day of history, music, and connection.

From San Francisco to Buenos Aires… and back again ✨

Carol and Stan first visited Buenos Aires in February 2025, and today they returned for another day of discovery. Both then and now, Valeria Duek personally guided them, crafting a fully customized itinerary based on their interests and needs.

We began the day straight from the hotel with a visit to the Great Temple on Paso Street, a cornerstone of Jewish life in Buenos Aires.
Then it was time for a kosher lunch at in the Once neighborhood — nothing more porteño than empanadas de carne 🥟.

After lunch, we enjoyed a guided visit to the Jewish Federation of Argentina , learning about this key umbrella organization of the Jewish community.
Our journey continued at the Jewish Museum of Buenos Aires and the historic Libertad Temple.

Last but not least, we visited the Metropolitan Cathedral of Buenos Aires, where we appreciated the meaningful homage the Catholic Church has made to the Jewish People — a powerful symbol of dialogue and respect.

Every visit tells a story. Some stories are worth continuing.

✨ A customized 2-day walking tour of Buenos Aires ✨

When Sheryl, Jeff, Connie, and Lloyd came all the way from Pittsburgh, they asked for a tailor-made experience to truly feel the city — and that’s exactly what we created together 🇦🇷🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

They stayed at the beautiful and we kicked off Day 1 exploring the South of Buenos Aires, where history, culture, and local life intertwine.

We began in Puerto Madero, crossing the iconic Puente de la Mujer, and continued on foot to Costanera Sur, walking along the Río de la Plata and enjoying the open air and views.

From there, we took a bus to Caminito in La Boca, the most colorful neighborhood in the city, immortalized by artist Benito Quinquela Martín 🎨

An Uber ride brought us to San Telmo, the oldest district in Buenos Aires. We explored the San Telmo Market and enjoyed a light lunch at .telma — the perfect pause before continuing our walk.

Strolling down Defensa Street, we made our way to Plaza de Mayo, discovering along the way some true hidden gems:
📍 Farmacia La Estrella, the oldest pharmacy in Buenos Aires
📍 Librería de Ávila, the city’s oldest bookstore
📍 Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires
📍 Manzana de las Luces (The Block of Lights)

We ended the day by taking the subway to one of Buenos Aires’ greatest treasures: Teatro Colón, for a guided visit that never fails to impress 🎭✨

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

I want to say thank you to everyone who joined this wonderful trip to Argentina. More than a year ago Cantor Nesis proposed to me that we take a trip together to Argentina. I thought it was a great idea and I told her that I have a great company that I use to plan all of our tours for the congregation. She told me that she already had someone in mind who actually lives in Buenos Aires and that she had used her before. She told me that her name is Valeria Duek from and that we would not be disappointed. Wow! Was she right! I can't imagine a better experience than the one we all just shared. Many thanks to Valeria Duek for a job done extremely well!

The biggest thanks goes out to all of you who decided to join this tour. You had no way of knowing for sure what the experience would be like when you signed up for the trip. You trusted Cantor Nesis and me to deliver a wonderful tour experience for you. Valeria made that easy for us. We could not have done it without all of you joining together to create this group. We landed in Argentina on Day 1 and many of us did not know each other. I got off the plane in Portland yesterday and realized that I now have several new friends, and have grown closer to others that I had known from before. There is nothing like sharing a week together in an experience such as this to draw people closer together.
